Frequently asked questions

How do you keep a customer credit book in Excel?

Every credit and every payment is a row: date, customer, type and amount. A customer's credits minus their payments is what they still owe. In this template the type is picked from a list, and the “Customers” sheet shows what's owed, the last movement and who still owes, by itself.

How do I move old debts over from a paper book?

Open one “Credit” row per customer with today's date and write “Earlier balance” in the note. You don't need to enter past purchases one by one; from now on you keep it row by row.

Is there a limit on customers?

Formulas are ready for 300 rows; for more, copy the last row down. In Çetele the credit book is free and has no customer limit.

How do I remind a customer what they owe?

Excel doesn't send messages; you write the amount yourself. In Çetele, “Remind on WhatsApp” on the customer's page opens a ready message with what they owe; you are the one who sends it.

Have a good day at work!

In Çetele the credit book is free with no customer limit: record a credit in two taps, a payment comes off what's owed, it tells you on the customer's pay day, and you remind them on WhatsApp with a ready message.
